One of my most meaningful commissions was illustrating Mary Forgione’s deeply moving article in the Los Angeles Times about how surrounding herself with artwork helped her navigate the loss of her beloved husband. Published on Boxing Day 2020, at the height of the pandemic, her words offered a soothing presence to many grappling with grief.
Mary shared detailed photographs of the art collection she and her husband had lovingly curated over the years. Drawing inspiration from these images, I created an illustration that reflected the comfort and connection found in art during times of loss.
