Hi there,
I'm Niki Usagi. Originally from Budapest, Hungary, I now call the United Kingdom my home and workspace. My creative journey spans across multiple mediums, including painting, drawing, paper cut, ceramics, printmaking and textiles.
The essence of my art finds its rhythm in the vivid tapestry of pop culture, from the mid-20th century to the present day. Music, film, television, books and the everyday intricacies of life all influence my work. I'm drawn to crafting bold contrasts, playing with bright and striking colours, and experimenting with textures to bring my vision to life.
Beyond my personal explorations I also work as a freelance illustrator and muralist. I was lucky enough to collaborate with esteemed clients like the LA Times, Vox Creative, Little Brown Book Group, After Noah, Noema Magazine, and many more.
I'm currently studying Ma Illustration at UAL's Camberwell College.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or enquiries; I'm always happy to connect and discuss a possible collaboration.
